Research

“The formulation of a problem is often more essential than its solution, which may be merely a matter of mathematical or experimental skill.” - Einstein

My scientific interest grounds in interdisciplinary research on applied data science and causal machine learning for visitor management and smart mobility. My research is cited more than 1000 times (according to Google Scholar).

I’ve been asked to review for several renowned journals and conferences in the field of Business & Information Systems Engineering (e.g., Business & Information Systems Engineering, Electronic Markets, Information Systems Journal) and Energy Informatics (e.g., Joule, Applied Energy). I also served as Associate Editor for the European Conference on Information Systems, the International Conference on Wirtschaftsinformatik, and INFORMATIK.

Furthermore, I am supervisor and external reviewer of several doctoral theses and research programs like the Scientific Commission of Lower Saxony.
